Skills for Health promote SAGE & THYME training

Skills for Health is a not-for-profit organisation that provides education and training for the healthcare workforce, to provide staff with the skills they need to improve patient care.
They have a number of resources available to the NHS and to independent and voluntary organisations.
The SAGE & THYME Foundation Level workshop is listed on the Communication Resource Hub as communication training that can help staff.

Approaching upset people about research

Clinical research is needed to develop new treatments and to gain knowledge that will improve patient care. This sometimes requires researchers to approach patients who may have received some upsetting news, or who are worried about their condition or their future, about participating in research.
We are sometimes asked if the SAGE & THYME Foundation Level workshop teaches skills that can support researchers in talking with patients who have concerns, and the answer is yes!
