Teaching SAGE & THYME to British Fencing and Bollyfit Active CIC

People fencing and doing keep fit

We were delighted to teach people from:

  • British Fencing who run a swords-based exercise class for people recovering from breast cancer treatment (Swords after Surgery); and
  • volunteers, coaches, and sessional workers from Bollyfit Active CIC, who work closely with vulnerable women through their health and wellbeing programmes this week.

We got some great feedback from them!

From my perspective, the SAGE & THYME training will significantly strengthen the delivery of our Swords After Surgery project. The communication model gives our coaches a structured way to support participants who may be feeling anxious, emotional, or uncertain during recovery. The emphasis on listening, pausing, and guiding conversations aligns perfectly with the sensitive nature of our sessions. It will help our team respond confidently and compassionately, ensuring participants feel heard, safe, and supported throughout the programme.
